Pet of the Week: Meet 'May'

May is currently available for adoption at the Medfield Animal Shelter.

"May" showed up at the back door of a resident in Webster and it turned out the cat made a lucky choice to pick this individual as her rescuer.

The Webster resident is a friend of all animals and never turns down a stray's plea for help, according to Kim Agricola of the Medfield Animal Shelter.

"The woman didn't recognize May as one of the neighborhood indoor/outdoor cats so she posted 'Found Cat' signs in an effort to reunite May with her family," Agricola said.

May's rescuer thinks she might have been abandoned by one of the college students leaving the area for summer break since several new cats appeared the same week, Agricola said.

May is described as an easygoing girl who is probably four to five years old. She is gentle and loves pats. She is very content to follow you around or be by herself lying on a cat tree watching the birds. She is social with everyone she meets and doesn't mind her roommate, Blaze, who comes over to sniff. She would be a good choice for many families.
