Pet of the Week: Meet Carly

Carly is available for adoption at the Medfield Animal Shelter.

Carly originally arrived at the Medfield Animal Shelter from a large, very crowded shelter where she spent eight months in a cage patiently waiting for a family to come along and adopt her.

“This sweet, gorgeous and friendly cat was overlooked simply because there were so many other cats also available,” said Kim Agricola with the Medfield Animal Shelter.  “She was adopted from us two years ago, but was recently returned because she was no longer getting along with the other cat in her home.”

Agricola said this “tiger and white beauty” is looking for a home where she can be the boss.

She said the 17 lb. diva does not lack confidence but does lack willpower when it comes to cat cookies. She has tried the "see food" diet, has flunked out of "Jenny Cat" and "Watch your Weight".

In her previous home her owners were smart enough to try a timed feeder but Carly was even smarter and ate her and her cat companion's portion until he became much too thin.

“This luscious beauty needs to be the only pet as she is happiest when she is not asked to share her owner’s attention,” said Agricola, noting that Carly would do best in a home of a single person or a home without children under 12 years old.

Carly is approximately 6 years old and is spayed and up-to-date on her vet care. Please call the Medfield Animal Shelter at (508) 359-8989 if you would like to arrange a meeting with Carly.
