Countdown: Eight Days Until Medfield Green Day

Medfield Green is offering residents a chance to do some spring-cleaning and be green by recycling unwanted and used materials. This year's Medfield Green Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Hall.

Medfield’s biggest recycling day of the year is just eight days away and Medfield Patch is helping you prepare for the annual event by highlighting different items you can donate.

Leading off our countdown series, we are highlighting clothing items and shoes that can be donated at the

Clothing: Residents have the opportunity to donate clothing of all sizes for men, women and children. Participants are asked to separate clothing by child’s gender, adult male, adult female, work and formal attire.

Shoes: All types and sizes of shoes will be accepted for donation. Participants are asked, if possible, to put a rubber band around each pair of shoes to keep them together. So spend some time today taking a look at your clothes and shoes and if you find anything you no longer want, get them ready to be donated on Saturday, May 5. Who organizes Medfield Green Day? Green Day, according to Medfield Green’s event flyer, is organized by a group of volunteers who belong to the Medfield Green Organization.

What is Medfield Green Day? The day is about finding a new home for things you no longer need or use. Keeping items out of our landfills not only benefits the environment but it helps people in need. Bring your unwanted items (highlighted in Medfield Patch’s countdown series) to the , 110 Peter Kristof Way, Medfield, where volunteers will help unload your car and make sure that your donation reaches the right organization. It is a great opportunity for you to pass along items that you no longer use to someone who needs a helping hand.
