Bikes Not Bombs Bike Drive to be Held May 5

The ninth annual Bikes not Bombs bike drive will be held during Medfield Green Day on Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Hall.

Medfield residents Kevin Lynch and Alex Opiela are organizing the ninth annual Bikes Not Bombs bike drive to be held in conjunction with . 

Residents are encouraged to donate their unwanted to bikes to Bikes Not Bombs at the on Saturday May 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. Last year, more than 175 bikes were collected, making the Medfield bike drive one of the most successful bike drives last year.  

In the last 25 years, Bikes Not Bombs has saved more than 40,000 bikes from landfills and donated bikes to marginalized populations around the globe. If you cannot bring your bike on May 5, call Kevin Lynch at (508) 359-1018 for a drop-off or pick-up.

A $5-10 donation is requested with the donation of your bike to offset the cost of shipping. In past years, bikes have been shipped to Africa, Central America, the Caribbean and New Orleans. In the past eight years, Medfield has donated  over 1,000 bikes to Bikes Not Bombs.
