Thursday, July 4th

10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Park Street Books & Toys
, 504 Main Street. Celebrate your independence with a good book or old-fashioned toy.

2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Medfield Farmers' Market
, First Parish Church, 26 North Street. Many of the weekly market vendors will be at the farmers' market this week. Celebrate the nation's independence with some homegrown veggies on the grill or fresh strawberries on your shortcake. Click HERE for more information.

6 p.m., The Grass Gypsys, Town Gazebo. Part of the MEMO annual summer concert series. Folks are invited to celebrate Independence Day with a picnic dinner, some lounge chairs and some good Medfield company.

The Grass Gypsys will play "American" rock and roll (Born on the Bayou, American Girl, etc.) to commemorate the Fourth of July. There will be four band members including Colleen Rusconi Kleya (a Sharon native) and her husband Justin Kleya (from Millis) performing several of their own recordings. They have toured all over the country and recorded three CDs with original songs; they are also in a wedding band called "As You Like It" so their repertoire will also include popular music.

At the July 4th concert, attendees can purchase hot dogs, snacks, and beverages from The Hot Dog Wagon.
