Medfield Boy Scout Troop 89 completed the most merit badges at Boy Scout Camp Squanto last week.

The troop, led by newly-elected Troopmaster Bruce Raine, had 32 scouts attend camp -- located in the Myles Standish State Forest in Carver -- this year.

Of the troops that attended during their session, Medfield scouts earned the most merit badges. Other Troop 89 accomplishments included:
  • 91 merit badges
  • 25 partial completions
  • Honor Troop Award
  • Commissioner's Certificate of Inspection
In addition, one scout earned the Adventure Award, one earned the Mile Swim, and one completed Outdoor Chef.

The leaders of Troop 89 received special recognition for helping every day with the Flight to Eagle program, and scout Ben Wilson was recognized for his leadership as well.

Troop 89 took second place in the Theme Night competition. This year's theme was "Sports" and Medfield scouts dressed in their favorite Medfield sports team apparel.

Eight of the scouts attending advanced in rank, and Kyle Heine received the Camper Award.
