Boys: Placed 13th in the MIAA Division II State Championships, Feb. 18

The Medfield High School boys’ swim team placed 13th out of 45 teams.

The Warriors swam Saturday, Feb. 18 at Harvard University and placed in the following events:

200 Medley Relay – The team of Dylan Heaney, Alec Haley, JJ Fedak and Peter Woodsum
finished with a time of 1:53.73.
200 freestyle – Sophomore Alec Haley finished in 19th place with a season best time
of 1:54.75.  

500 freestyle – Sophomore Alec Haley finished in eighth place with a season best time
of 5:00.85.

50 freestyle – Senior Conor Davis finished in 20th place with a time of 23.40.

100 butterfly – Senior Conor Davis finished in 10th place with a personal best time of 54.84.
“Conor Davis had a great end to the season and to his senior year, congratulations,” said Medfield head coach Sara Callahan.

100 butterfly – Junior Connor Haley came in fourth place with a personal best time of 52.37.
500 freestyle – Junior Connor Haley came in first place with a time of 4:41.82.

“Both of these times are new team records,” Callahan said of Haley’s times in the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle.

200 freestyle relay ­– The team of Peter Woodsum, Alex Carpino, Connor Haley and Conor Davis
finished in 13th place with a season best time of 1:35.42, also a new team record.

400 freestyle relay ­– The team of Alex Carpino, Alec Haley, Conor Davis and Connor Haley finished in 15th place with a time of 3:31.17.
“Overall, the boys ended up in 13th place out of the 45 teams who scored
points,” Callahan said. “I am incredibly proud of what the boys have been able to do this
season. They stepped up and had some great times this weekend.”

Girls: Placed 20th out of 35 teams in the MIAA Division II State Championships, Feb. 19.

The Medfield High School girls’ swim team placed 20th out of 35 teams in the MIAA Division II State Championship on Sunday, Feb. 19.

200 Medley Relay – The team of Natascha Borgstein, Haley Dolan, Jen Alban and Katie Nickerson finished in 15th place with a time of 2:01.41.  

“This is a season best time and also is a three second drop for this relay team since last weekend's meet,” said Callahan.
200 freestyle ­– Freshman Natascha Borgstein swam a 2:11.41.

500 freestyle ­– Freshman Natascha Borgstein finished in 19th place with a time of 4:48.79.

100 butterfly ­– Junior Jen Alban finished in 12th place with a time of 1:01.09.  This is a season best time for Alban and a new team record.

100 freestyle ­– Junior Jen Alban finished with a time of 58.80.
200 freestyle relay – The team of Kira Stonkevitch, Katya Stonkevitch, Sarah Mahoney, and Haley Dolan finished in 18th place with a time of 1:50.63.

100 breaststroke ­– Freshman Haley Dolan finished in 18th place with a season best time of 1:15.22.
400 freestyle relay – The team of Katie Nickerson, Natascha Borgstein, Sarah Mahoney, and Jen Alban finished in 11th place with a season best time of 3:58.92.  This time is more than a five second drop from the team's time last weekend.  

“This is the first time the relay finished in under four minutes this season,” Callahan said. “The girls were fierce competitors and they should be very proud of their successes.”
