VIDEO: Medfield Girls' Hockey Looking to Build On Last Year's Success
Medfield opens 2011-2012 season Wednesday against rival Dover-Sherborn at 3 p.m.
The Medfield High School girls' hockey team found immediate success in head coach Molly Norton's first year with the program and will look to add to that success in 2011-2012 with 17 players returning to the team from a year ago.
Adding leadership to that experience are the Warriors three captains: seniors Jamie Weldon and Jeanette Barone and junior Mimi Borkan.
Borkan was "the backbone" of the 2010-2011 team, according to Norton, turning in a sensational season in net. The junior netminder will carry the load once again this season.
