Three Medfield LAX Players Named All Americans, Will Play at Harvard Stadium Tonight

MHS seniors Ben Cox, Andrew Melvin and Junior Matt Crowell will play in the BostonLax.net/Under Armour MA All American game today at Harvard Stadium.

The following report was submitted by Medfield Boys Lacrosse Coach John Isaf after Friday's game.

Undefeated Longmeadow (25-0) beat Medfield (22-4) 10-7 in the D2 State Championship game tonight at Foley Stadium. 

Junior midfielders Matt Crowell and Tommy Sears led the offense, each scoring 2 goals. Senior Attackman Andrew Melvin scored 1 goal and 1 assist. Junior attackman Tyler Hagan and Freshman midfielder John MacLean each scored 1 goal as well. Senior midfielder Matt Ruzzo and Junior midfielder Matt Cahill each had an assist.

Senior defenseman Ben Cox and Junior long stick midfielder Blake Frasca each grabbed 5 groundballs to lead the defense. They both held their opponent to 1 goal each as well.

Junior faceoff specialist Brian Bissell won 10 of 19 faceoffs.

Junior goalie Robert Treiber made 9 saves.

Medfield finishes its season as the State finalist and EMass champion.  

Seniors Ben Cox and Andrew Melvin and Junior Matt Crowell were named All Americans by the Eastern Mass Lacrosse Coaches Association and were selected to play in the BostonLax.net/Under Armour MA All American game today, Monday, June 17, at Harvard Stadium.
