Medfield Ties Westwood in Girls' Hockey Wednesday

Medfield's Mimi Borkan stopped 42 shots Wednesday to preserve a scoreless tie.

The Medfield Warriors and Westwood Wolverines played to a 0-0 tie in "an exciting varsity girls' ice hockey game on Wednesday in Canton," Chrusciel said.

Westwood (3-0-1), skating three lines, put pressure on Medfield (4-1-1) all game and ended with 42 shots on net – all stopped by Warriors goaltender Mimi Borkan.

"A tremendous goaltending effort by Mimi Borkan," Chrusciel said.

Medfield's defense was able to shut down a Westwood offense that had averaged nine goals a game entering Wednesday's contest. 

Westwood goaltender Courtney Fay stopped 12 shots to keep Medfield off the scoreboard.
