Medfield Tennis Teams Set for Wednesday's Semi-Final Matches

Medfield boys' tennis travels to Sharon for a 3:45 p.m. match while Medfield girls' tennis hosts Foxborough at Metacomet Park for a 3:30 p.m. match.

Wednesday's Medfield- match winner heads to the state South Division 2 final.

The Warriors and Eagles play a 2011 MIAA Boys' Tennis South Sectional Division 2 semifinal at 3:45 p.m. on the Sharon High courts.

The winner plays for the South Division 2 final against the winner of Wednesday's Hingham-Scituate semifinal, according to the tournament bracket.

Sharon is seeded first in the 15-team tournament. The Eagles finished 2011 at 16-0 and received a first-round bye. .

Medfield is seeded fourth after a 16-2 regular season. The Warriors defeated 13-seed Oliver Ames, 5-0, in the first round, and fifth-seed Duxbury, 3-2, in the quarterfinal.

Hingham is seeded second after finishing 2011 at 18-1. Scituate is the 11 seed after going 10-8.

Girls' Tennis Hosts Foxborough in Semi-Final Round

The Medfield High School girls' tennis team will look to remain perfect on the season Wednesday when it hosts Foxborough at Metacomet Park in Medfield at 3:30 p.m. The winner earns a berth to the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional final to play the winner of Thursday's Scituate-Hopkinton semi-final match. 

Medfield (22-0) is the tournament's number two seed behind Scituate and earned a first-round bye in the tournament. The Warriors defeated Milton, 5-0 in the first round on Saturday, June 4 and edged Hingham, 3-2 in Monday's quarterfinal round.

Foxboro, the bracket's third seed, also earned a first-round bye and defeated Sharon, 4-1 in the tournament's first round and edged Duxbury, 3-2 in the quarterfinal round.
