Medfield Softball Hosts Martha’s Vineyard Friday in State Tourney Opener
The Medfield High School softball team drew the 16th seed in the MIAA D2 South Sectional State Tournament and will host No. 17 Martha's Vineyard in Friday's preliminary round.
The Medfield High School softball team will be making its first state tournament appearance in six years and on Tuesday, the Warriors found out the details to their state tourney berth.
Medfield finished the regular season with an 11-9 record and in a strong Division 2 South field, that drew the Warriors the 16th seed out of 21 teams in this year's state tournament. The Warriors, however, will host its Preliminary Round game because the team is one seed higher than its opponent, Martha’s Vineyard (17th seed). The game will be held at Shonda Schilling Field at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 1.
