Medfield's Lauren Petit Wins Regional 3-Point Contest

Medfield High School girls' basketball player Lauren Petit won a 3-point contest held at Keefe Tech over the weekend.

FRAMINGHAM – Lauren Petit, the starting point guard on the girls' basketball team, competed in and won a regional 3-point contest this past weekend at Keefe Tech in Framingham.

"Lauren is a great shooter and works very hard at it, as well as all other parts of her game," said Medfield girls' basketball head coach Mark Nickerson. "After seeing her go five-for-five from three in the first quarter of our game against Ashland, I knew we were getting a glimpse of how special a player/athlete she is."

The contest, according to Nickerson, is run by local officials and includes players from schools throughout the region, not just in the Tri-Valley League. Petit scored 15 out of a possible 21 points in the final round of the competition to win the championship. Norton's Meg Brown challenged Petit in the final round.
