Medfield Native Participating in NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships this Weekend

Medfield native Kyle Foster, a freshman at Salisbury University will be participating in his team's NCAA D3 Men's Lacrosse Championship game Sunday against SUNY-Cortland.

The best men's college lacrosse teams will be at Gillette Stadium for the NCAA Championships this weekend and one Medfield native will be in Foxborough participating in the action.

Medfield’s Kyle Foster, a freshman at Salisbury University, will be participating in his team’s NCAA Division 3 Men’s Lacrosse Championship game Sunday at Gillette Stadium against SUNY-Cortland.

Foster, a midfielder, played in nine games this season, recording zero points. Salisbury is the number one ranked team in the D3 tournament with a perfect 22-0 record.

The four-day event in Foxborough is a lacrosse celebration in addition to the Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 championships. Harvard University is the host school for the event.

Saturday will feature the Division 1 semifinals – No. 4 Notre Dame faces No. 1 Loyola-Maryland at 2:30 p.m., followed by the University of Maryland against No. 3 Duke at 5 p.m.

Sunday, the Division 2 and 3 titles will be decided. In the D-2 game at 1 p.m., Limestone will face Dowling, followed by the D-3 game between SUNY-Cortland and Salisbury. The US Lacrosse Jamboree will also be held Sunday.

From 10 a.m. to noon, there will be the All-American recognition. FanFest will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there will be a U9 youth jamboree at 8 and 9 a.m.

Monday, the US Lacrosse Jamboree will continue with the FanFest from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The D-1 championship game will be at 1 p.m. There will be a U11 jamboree at 8 and 9 a.m.
