Medfield's Worthy Wins 800 Meter Run in MIAA D3 Championships

Taylor Worthy was Medfield's top finisher, winning the girls' 800 meter run at the MIAA D3 Track Championships this past Saturday at Pembroke High. Bishop Feehan won the girls' championship while Hingham took home the boys' title.

Taylor Worthy placed first in the 800 meter run as the Medfield High School girls’ track team placed 11th out of 29 teams in Saturday’s MIAA Eastern Mass Division III Championships at Pembroke High School.

In addition to Worthy’s victory in the 800, the 4x400 meter relay team placed fifth with a time of 4:09.81, the 4x800 meter relay team placed sixth with a time of 10:15.97 and Claudia Tischler placed sixth in the 2-mile run with a time of 11:55.89.

  • 100 Meter Dash: Kristina Gustafson placed seventh at 13.20
  • 400 Meter Dash: Cassidy Baird placed 23rd at 63.83
  • 800 Meter Run: Kate Letai placed 10th at 2:26.15
  • 800 Meter Run: Sarah Bock finished 13th at 2:28.34
  • 1-mile run: Sally Todd finished ninth at 5:33.37
  • 400 Meter Hurdles: Chrissy Grech placed 15th at 73.50
  • 4x100 Meter Relay: Medfield placed 10th at 52.85
  • Long jump: Mekenzie Smith placed seventh at 16-07.50
  • Javelin throw: Riley Godshall placed 29th at 79-1

Bishop Feehan won the girls’ championship meet with 75 points.

On the boys’ side, Medfield placed 15th out of 36 teams Saturday and were well represented in the 1-mile run.

Ian Robertson placed fourth in the mile with a time of 4:29.23. Ian’s brother, Sean, finished in 14th place at 4:40.09 and Jack Moses came in 20th place at 10:14.78. Evan Berry also placed sixth in the 400 meter hurdles at 59.86 and Greg Lyons finished sixth in the 800 Meter Run at 2:00.62.

  • 4x800 Meter Relay: Medfield placed fifth at 8:23.67Long Jump: Tim Bernard placed 12th with 19-08.75
  • Shot Put: Connor Barrett placed 15th with 42-08.75; Ife Adebayo placed 17th with 42-07.00

Hingham won the boys’ championship meet with 106 points
