Medfield American Legion Opens Season Thursday in Brookline

It's Opening Day for the Medfield American Legion baseball team as Beckwith Post 110 opens the 2011 summer campaign on the road Thursday against Brookline at Warren Park. Game time is 5:45 p.m. 

Rob Mintz is the team's manager and the club is made up of players from Medfield, Millis, Dover-Sherborn, Noble & Greenough of Dedham and Milton Academy of Milton. Medfield plays in Massachusetts District 6 in the West Division. 

Teams in District 6: 

• East Division: Weymouth, Braintree, Cohasset, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Milton, Quincy 294, Stoughton and Holbrook.
• West Division: Medfield, Brookline, Foxboro, Franklin, Canton, Norwood, Walpole, Westwood, Needham and Norfolk.
