Help Bring Boston's Championship Banners to Medfield Friday

The TD Garden is looking for a place to relocate two of Boston's championship banners Friday, March 23 and is open to suggestions on its Facebook page. Log on and suggest Medfield Wednesday for a chance to bring the banners to town!

Want to see Boston's two most recent championship banners from relocate to Medfield for a day?

You can, by suggesting it on the TD Garden's Facebook page Wednesday, March 21!

Boston's 23 sports championship banners are on the move and the community has an opportunity to bring two of those banners – the 2008 Boston Celtics championship and the 2011 Boston Bruins championship – to Medfield Friday, March 23 as part of a fan campaign.

The TD Garden has launched "Operation Rafter Relocation" this week to temporarily remove the Celtics and Bruins banners from the TD Garden while the arena hosts the NCAA Eastern Regional College Basketball Finals on March 22 and 24. The banners were brought to The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Dorchester Tuesday and will bring the city's two most recent banners from the Celtics and Bruins into the local communities for the remainder of the week through a social media fan campaign that determines the location.

Fans have taken to Facebook and Twitter to suggest locations for the two banners and the TD Garden has determined Norwood High School and Children's Hospital Boston as the early winners.

The banners will visit Norwood Wednesday and the Children's Hospital Thursday but the TD Garden is still looking for a location for Friday.

How about Medfield?

To suggest the banners be brought to town, follow these instructions:

  1. Log on to Facebook
  2. Find TD Garden's Facebook page (click this link)
  3. Suggest a place in Medfield (mention Medfield in the post) of where the banners should go in the comments section of the page.
  4. Voting ends Wednesday, March 21 so be sure to tell your friends!

The TD Garden says suggestions for locations can be indoor or outdoor, public or private, within a 50-mile radius of Boston.

"Please keep in mind that the two banners will need to have a large space to hang from, a ceiling height of no less than 20-plus-feet and room width of no less than 50-plus-feet," The TD Garden said in a statement.

Wednesday, March 21 is the last day to suggest a location for Friday, March 23 so log on and vote for Medfield!

The banners will return to TD Garden on Saturday, March 24.
