VIDEO: Medfield Football Drops Non-League Game to Bellingham Saturday

Medfield falls to 1-5 this season after Saturday's 26-6 loss to Bellingham.

Lightning struck the football team's defense early in the first quarter Friday when Bellingham quarterback Kevin McTomney scored on a 17-yard run at the 9:46 mark. The Blackhawks converted the two-point conversion and quickly took an 8-0 lead over the Warriors.

Then lightning literally struck over a rain-soaked Calvin George Fisher Memorial Field early in the second quarter and play was eventually suspended until 6 p.m. Saturday. Play resumed with 10:23 remaining in the second quarter and Medfield holding possession.

The game belonged to Bellingham Saturday as the Blackhawks defeated the Warriors, 26-6 for their first win of the season. Medfield falls to 1-5 overall this season but remains at 0-2 in Tri-Valley League Large Division play.
