Former Medfield Resident, Drew Bledsoe, Presents Lamar Hunt Trophy to Patriots

The New England Patriots are AFC Champions after a 23-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Foxborough; earn a trip to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis.

FOXBOROUGH – Former Medfield resident and New England Patriots quarterback, Drew Bledsoe, made two noticeable appearances at Sunday's AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Bledsoe, named an honorary team captain earlier in the week, was on the field alongside former teammates and fellow honoary captains, Tedy Bruschi, Troy Brown and Ty Law for the opening coin toss.

And after New England's 23-20 victory over the Ravens, Bledsoe joined CBS broadcaster Jim Nance and Patriots owner Robert Kraft on stage to present Kraft and the Patriots the Lamar Hunt trophy (AFC Championship trophy).

Bledsoe played with New England from 1993 to 2002 and guided the Pats to Super Bowl XXXI, a 35-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers and contributed to the Patriots Super Bowl XXXVI victory over the St. Louis Rams.

With Sunday's win, the Patriots are headed to their seventh Super Bowl in team history and fifth under the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick era. The Patriots are 3-1 in Super Bowls under the quarterback-head coach duo.
