Stony Brook Presents "Vernal Pools Are Hoppin"

Stony Brook Presents "Vernal Pools Are Hoppin":   Spring at Stony Brook means frogs and salamanders! Amphibians have already moved into their spring mating areas – vernal pools. Join us as we explore these temporary ponds where we will see evidence of wood frogs and spotted salamanders, use nets to find insects and other animals, and discuss the fragile nature of these important habitats. All ages welcome.  Fee: $12m/$15nm per adult/child pair
