Curt Schilling Undergoing Treatment for Cancer, Will Need Surgery

Schilling announced he has cancer last month.

About a month after announcing his cancer diagnosis, former Boston Red Sox pitcher and current ESPN baseball analyst Curt Schilling announced Monday that he is currently undergoing radiation and will need more surgery, according to WCVB.

Schilling, a Medfield resident, announced his diagnosis in a statement to ESPN last month, but has not provided details regarding what type of cancer he is currently battling. His wife, Shonda Schilling, also battled cancer in 2001.

"Week 2 begins with radiation and unfortunately more surgery," Schilling posted on his Facebook page this week, WCVB reported. "Not gonna break me though, way too much faith in Him and love from friends and family."
