RUNNER PROFILE

Name: Rose Colleran

Age: 42

Reason for running: This will be my 5th consecutive Boston marathon.  Qualifying and running the first year provided me with such a sense of accomplishment.  Running a BQ is such a coveted achievement.  However, over the past few years while training through the hard, long winter months I think to myself, "Do I want to do this again next year?"  In the end I always decide I do for two reasons. First, I think if I didn't run and the weekend arrived when there is so much buzz and energy over the historic event, I'm convinced I would regret it.  Second, I think if I'm lucky enough to continue to run a qualifying time, I should toe the line.

Marathon experience: In addition to 4 previous Boston's, I have also run NYC, Vermont, Chicago, Providence, Philadelphia and 3 ultra marathons.    

Training Tip: Have a good training plan and be consistent and committed to following through regardless of weather or other things that propose a challenge.  Where there's a will, there's a way!
