Alex Opiela Named MVP at Medfield High School Football Banquet

The Medfield High School football team its team and honored many of its players at Sunday’s banquet, according to Medfield head coach Erik Ormberg.

The following are the award winners from the 2011 MHS team:

• Hardnosed Award – Ife Adebayo
• Hit of the Year – Conor Davis
• “Spirit of a Warrior” Award – TJ Valente
• Pop Warner Viking Alumni Award – Joe Shebertes
• J.V. 2 Sportsmanship – Dominic Rizzitano
• J.V. 2 Most Improved – Nick Fragola
• J.V. 1 Sportsmanship – Caleb Minsky
• J.V. 1 Most Improved – John Pendergast
• Scout team awards – Joe Marie, Brian Gerson, Caleb Minsky
• Lineman of the Year – Greg Rose
• Unsung Hero Award – Doug Nelson
• Varsity Sportsmanship – Warren Lent
• Rookie of the Year Award – Cam Donnelly
• Most Improved Player – Jake Mintz
• Outstanding Defensive Player – Arthur D'Angelo
• Mr. Versatility Award – TJ Valente
• Outstanding Offensive Player – Tim Bernard
• Most Valuable Player – Alex Opiela
• Coaches Award – David Landy
• Fans of the Year: Dave Valente and The Ludwig Family

 Ormberg also announced the captains of the 2012 Medfield High School football team will be Arthur D'Angelo, Aaron Cohen and Caleb Minsky.
