Who Won the Lion's Best Chowder Award?

The recent Chowder Cookoff raised $1,500 for the Friends of Seniors (FOSI) in Medfield.

Back in November the Medfield Lions conducted their Fifth Annual 2013 Medfield Chowder Fest at the Center at Medfield.

The event served over 140 people who thoroughly enjoyed the event and voted for their favorite chowder. The winner for the first time was Noon Hill Grill.

Lion Tony Centore presented the award to Noon Hill Grill Head Chef Habib Kolahi, who said that “Noon Hill Grill was glad to support the Lions and Medfield Seniors.”

Chef Habib attributes his award winning chowder to “using only the freshest of local clams and a lot of love”. He also “invited everyone to come to the Noon Hill Grill and try their award-winning chowder.”

The taster’s balloting backs up Habib’s recipe for delicious chowder.

Centore offered thanks to other area restaurants/markets who participated including Basils, Roche Bros., Ice House Restaurant at the Kingsbury Club, J&L Catering of Medway, and Zebra’s Bistro & Wine Bar. Delicious rolls were provided by Blue Moon Bagel Café and soft drinks provided by Big Y Markets of Walpole.

The event netted $1,200 and the Lions Club donated $300 more for a total donation of $1,500 to Friends of Seniors Inc. (FOSI). Newly-elected FOSI President Chuck Conti deeply appreciated the Medfield Lions Club’s efforts over the years in supporting Medfield Seniors.
