'Irene's Closet' Now Open on Park Street

The jewelry and fashion textile shop is now open at 38B Park Street.

"Irene's Closet" is the latest business to open on Park Street.

"We carry artist-designed and crafted jewelry and fashion textiles that are almost all made in the United States," said owner Heidi Nelson of Medfield. "I can tell you, pretty much, where every piece came from."

The cozy shop at 38B Park Street is filled with lots of gift-giving ideas for the holidays: jewelry, hand bags (hand-stitched in Boston's South End), mittens and scarves, clothing and so much more.

Nelson has experience as a buyer of jewelry and textiles for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

"I just wanted to take what I've been doing and love, and do it for myself," she said.

The shop is named after her grandmother.

"'Irene' was my grandmother's name so she's my inspiration of sorts," Nelson said. "And I like to think of it as a 'closet' where you're finding all your favorite things as you get ready to go out the door."

Irene's Closet will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Credit cards are accepted and gift-wrapping is available.
