You Thief!

John 10:10 (NLT) - The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

How’s your stress level?  Mine is nuts!  For some reason a few days ago I woke up in a panic.  My ‘Trust God’ mantra went out the window and I’m unable to calm myself.  I’m trying to breathe deeply, set priorities and maintain perspective.  Yet my snippy voice reveals my heart.  The fact is, there is a lot to do.  I’m hoping some Scripture and writing will re-center me.

I wrote those words before turning to today’s Scripture from Biblegateway.com.  That thief!  Satan is stealing our holiday!  His purpose is to destroy the meaning of Christmas.

Let’s not let that happen.  Let’s think about this beautiful holiday.  What do we celebrate in Christmas?  Yes, a baby’s birth.  But what does that mean? 

God set aside His glory and entered our world as a helpless infant.  He became vulnerable, humble and powerless.  God experienced humanity.  Love came down from heaven.  Why would God do that?
