Wrentham Principal Chosen to Lead Memorial School in Medfield

The principal of Delaney Elementary School in Wrentham is headed to Medfield. 

Melissa "Missy" Peterson has been selected by Medfield school officials to take on the roll of principal of the Memorial Elementary School in Medfield, according to the Sun Chronicle. 

The discussion of a new principal for the school was among the discussion items this week for the Medfield School Committee, as officials sought to find a full-time replacement for interim principal Dr. Edward Quigley, who took over for a year after Andrea Trasher retired last June. The School Committee and Quiqley did not immediately return a request for comment on the search process this week.

Peterson holds a doctorate and has been working in the Wrentham elementary school system for nearly 20 years, having started as a teacher in 1995 and later serving as an assistant principal in 2001, the Sun Chronicle reported. 

She's also not the first from Wrentham to move into a role in Medfield; current Medfield Schools Superintendent Jeffrey Marsden previously served as the superintendent in Wrentham for about seven years before coming to Medfield last spring.
