US News Ranks Medfield High School 16th Best in Massachusetts

The U.S. News & World Report recently released its annual list of best high schools across the country and has once again found itself ranked among the top schools in the Commonwealth.

The report has Medfield High School ranked 16th best in Massachusetts and the 293rd best high school in the United States. MHS also received a gold medal rating from U.S. News.

According to the U.S. News, Medfield High School ranks in the 97 percentile proficiency in English and the 98 percentile proficiency in math.

"Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® coursework and exams," the report said of Medfield High School. "The AP® participation rate at Medfield High School is 60 percent. The student body makeup is 47 percent male and 53 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 6 percent."

As for other Medfield High School academic indicators, U.S. News report shows Medfield's student/teacher ratio is 15:1 and its college readiness index is 53.5. There are currently 921 students enrolled at MHS.

Sturgis Charter Public School was ranked number one in Massachusetts, while Boston Latin School, Hopkinton High School, Belmont High School and Weston High School round out the top five.

The number one ranked school in the country was the School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas, Texas.
