This year's snow days have Medfield students attending school until late June, however, if school had started the week before Labor Day, the 180th mandatory school day would not fall on Thursday, June 27, just one long weekend before July 1.

The Medfield School Committee discussed this question at its June 17 meeting, noting that some parents have expressed concern that students are missing out on camp and other activities because of the late end date.

TELL US: What do you think? Which would you rather:

  1. Have more time at the end of the summer and return to school AFTER Labor Day, or
  2. Have more time at the beginning of the summer (by getting out earlier in June) which means a return to school BEFORE Labor Day?
