The parents and families of the students were entertained Valentine's evening by the students in the fourth grade chorus, the fifth grade recorder ensemble and the fourth grade string ensemble.
The first group to perform, under the leadership of chorus director, Barbara Oxholm, and accompanied on the piano by Nicole Flynn, were 52 fourth grade students. A few students from the chorus were featured on bass, piano, xylophone and metallophone as well.
The chorus harmonized and entertained on the stage of the Lowell Mason Auditorium at in front of a packed audience. The students, all dressed in bright Valentine colors were dazzling to look at and be entertained by.
The fifth grade recorder ensemble was next to perform, and this small group of eight students performed six songs harmonizing the alto, soprano and tenor recorders. The recorder ensemble, also under the direction of Oxholm, included students on piano, and xylophone as well. This talented group of students were a pleasure to hear.
Lastly, the largest group to perform was the fourth grade string ensemble, under the direction of Sharon Woodworth, and accompanied by Assistant Director, David Ruggiero. These 75 beginner violinists showed their string and bow skills and many of them performed solos as well.
A lovely way to end to a Valentine's Day.
