Park & Rec's Kinder Basketball Off to a Fast Start

The popular program attracted 54 Kindergarten children last Saturday.

The following was submitted by Park and Recreation Program Coordinator Kevin Ryder.

The popular Kinder Basketball League through the Medfield Parks & Recreation Department got off to a fast start Saturday morning, with 54 Kindergarteners on six teams participating in practices and games at the Memorial School gymnasium.

Splashed in their team colors – red, orange, Kelly green, charcoal, royal blue and gold – the players were put through drills by the volunteer parent coaches, including passing, dribbling, defense and shooting.  Once practice was over, each team participated in a game, where fun and learning the basic rules were emphasized.
