Officials in Medfield are currently seeking nominations for the Robert C. Maguire Global Perspectives in Education Award.
The award is named after Maquire, who for more than two decades served in the Medfield Public School system, having served as Medfield High School principal for eight years before moving on to serve as the district's superintendent for 14 years.
The Medfield Coalition for Public Schools created the award to honor an educator in the Medfield school system who embodies Maguire's legacy of exposing students to the world beyond Medfield's borders, according to the MCPE.
The award will be given to a staff member whose efforts echo those of Maguire's, helping to further developing students' global understanding and readiness to engage in the expanding global economy, according to MCPE.
Moreover the award is meant to be given to someone who inspires students to look beyond Medfield and to learn more about the world through innovative programs and technologies.
Parents, administrators, school staff and others in the community are encouraged to nominate a candidate for the award.
