Needham Bank donates $8,000 to Medfield Afterschool Program

Needham Bank has made a donation as part of MAP's Quest Capital Campaign. The Memorial School MAP site will undergo extensive repairs this summer.

Needham Bank is proud to announce its support of the Medfield Afterschool Program (MAP) by contributing $8,000 toward capital repairs to the program’s Memorial School site.

Needham Bank has five branches throughout the greater Boston area, including one in Medfield.

MAP is a parent-based non-profit after school program established to provide quality care to children in grades K-8 enrolled in Medfield Public schools.  The program offers a variety of enrichment activities and services to more than 300 children annually at its four sites.

A capital needs assessment has determined that the Memorial School site, located on North Street, is in need of extensive wall repair to counteract trapped water.  Work slated to begin at the end of June includes replacement of aluminum drip edge flashing, repair of cracked masonry façade and sealing masonry veneer panels.  Project completion is anticipated by the end of August, prior to the beginning of the academic year.

“We are very grateful to Needham Bank,” said Jean Mineo, chair of MAP’s Quest Capital Campaign and former President of the MAP Executive Board.  “This generous contribution is a tangible demonstration of Needham Bank’s commitment to the community of Medfield; the contribution will benefit more than 250 Medfield families this year and many more in the future and we cannot say thank you enough.”
