MIAA State Tournament Schedules Announced for Medfield Basketball Teams

Medfield High boys' travel to Scituate Tuesday for MIAA State Tournament opener; Girls' earn first-round bye, host winner of Bishop Feehan/Duxbury game Wednesday.

The MIAA announced the boys’ and girls’ basketball pairings for the Division 2 State Tournament and both Medfield High School teams will be in action early next week.

The Medfield boys' (11-9) are coming off a 53-48 loss to Dedham in last Tuesday's Foxboro Winter Classic Championship game and enter this year’s tournament as the 11th seed in the Division 2 South bracket. Herb Grace’s squad will hit the road Tuesday and take the court against Scituate in a first round matchup with the sixth seeded Sailors at 7 p.m.

The MHS girls (20-2) will enter the tournament as the Division 2 South's No. 1 seed, earning a first-round bye. Warriors' head coach Mark Nickerson's squad will await the winner of Monday's game between No. 8 Bishop Feehan and No. 9 Duxbury before playing their Quarter-Final matchup in Medfield on Wednesday (7 p.m.)  Medfield is coming off just its second loss of the season, a 53-47 defeat to Oliver Ames, the defending South Division 2 State Champions in the Rebel Hoop Classic championship game in Walpole last Wednesday.
