Medfield Whiz Kid: Medfield High School Indoor Track Star, Alex Stanton

Stanton won two events at the Division 3 state indoor track meet at Reggie Lewis Center in Boston on Feb. 19.

Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Stanton won first place gold in her two events at the Division 3 Indoor Track State Meet on Feb. 19 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Stanton placed first in the 55 meter hurdles and the 600 meters. She has committed to run Division I for Brown University next year.

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Stanton holds nine Medfield High School track records and helped the girls' indoor track team place ninth overall at the Division 3 State meet. At the Tri-Valley League championships on Feb. 6, Stanton won the league title in the 600 meter, clocking the eighth-fastest time in the state for the event this season with a time of 1:36.96. At that TVL meet, Stanton also won the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, 3.5 inches and placed second in the 55 meter hurdles, clocking a time of 9.08 seconds.
