“We are loving high school,” he said.

The class has been selling clothes during lunch periods tagged with “Class of 2015” and have raised $3,000 (not including class dues) from those sales and other fundraising, which included Turkey Day Classic t-shirts for the

“We plan to continue to make money,” Letai said. “Possibly by holding ourselves a freshmen dance and we are currently selling hot chocolate in the mornings on Fridays.”

Class of 2014 Update

Krawec reported the sophomore class has been selling sweatpants to raise funds and sold 70 pairs in their first attempt earlier this month.

“We are hoping to sell more and do one or two more rounds [of selling],” Krawec said. “Hopefully as people wear them, word will spread and people will say ‘oh, that looks really cool.’”

The class also booked its location for the 2013 prom.

“I think I can reveal this, it will be at Gillette Stadium,” Krawec said. “It won’t be on the actual field but it’s really nice [function room]. That should be exciting.”

Krawec said the class is also using social media to reach out to fellow sophomores.

“We created a Facebook group and we have included everyone in the group and have been asking people for ideas and responses for what they want to sell so we can make money,” Krawec said. “We put the sweatpants idea on it and we got a really good response so hopefully we can post more things and people will say whether they want us to sell this and that.”

Class of 2013 Update

Gagne, representing the junior class, said the class held its first prom committee meeting for the 2012 prom at Lake Pearl.

“This was a milestone for us because it gets into the planning and logistics of [the event],” Gagne said. “Hopefully it goes well.”

Steve Marino’s hypnotist show, presented by the junior class, was an overwhelming success.

“He did a great show and a lot of people came,” Gagne said. “We almost filled the auditorium, which is huge for us. That was a good fundraiser and spirit raiser.”

Gagne praised the efforts of juniors Rose Sievewright and Katie Nickerson for bringing.

“This is something the student council had been planning to try and do for a couple of years and it just kind of got shut down because of fields and stuff like that over the years,” Gagne said. “It happened this year because of two girls and that was , they really got this going and worked really hard to make it a reality.”

Gagne said now that the event is “off the ground, it should be easy to keep it going in the future.”

“It was a really good thing and I respect Rose and Katie for working really hard for this,” Gagne said. “They committed a lot of time to make it happen.”

The junior class also recently participated in a special event at the high school to recognize the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

“The junior class Skyped with two Pearl Harbor veterans at the Hawaii Historical Society or something similar to that,” Gagne said. “It was the entire junior class in the auditorium, listening to the stories of these two people who witnessed Pearl Harbor. One of them was a native on the island and it was really interesting to hear his side of the story. And the other side of the story came from an actual veteran who was there on one of the boats that day. He gave the Army’s perspective and it was really interesting to hear what he thought of it too.”

Medfield Patch was present at the unique Skype experience and will provide more coverage from the event later this week.

Class of 2012 Update

Letai, in Velichansky's absence, presented an update from the senior class, highlighting the seniors’ holiday dance, town's Angel Run and a toy drive hosted by the school's drama club.

The funds raised from the holiday dance are going to the senior class for its cruise and other end of year events. Letai reported Velichansky said the dance attendance was “great in the beginning” but from 8:30 p.m. and onward “the gym emptied significantly and we are not quite sure what to do about that.”

Other events highlighted were the , as it was the last year funds would be going towards the Kindness Scholarship and there were hundreds of participants, showing Medfield’s “strong sense of community.” Many MHS organizations helped with the event.

Lastly, there’s a fundraiser hosted by the drama club taking place at MHS where people can donate toys for “Little Wanderers.”
