A Medfield native has been recognized for his efforts at Tufts University, both for his collegiate activities and for developing a speech-therapy mobile app.
Jack McDermott, who also played lacrosse for Medfield and was named a Boston Globe Lacrosse Player of the Year in 2010, was honored on March 29 by the Tufts Alumni Association for high grades, volunteer service and participation in collegiate activities, according to the Boston Globe.
McDermott, who underwent therapy for stuttering until age 15, is the founder of a startup known as Balbus Speech, Inc., and developer of Speech4Good, an app for mobile devices, according to the Globe.
Speech4Good is available for the iPad, iPhone & iPod touch. To learn more about the app, visit speech4good.com.
