Medfield High School Mock Trial Team Defeats Westwood High In Competition
MHS political science students take on various roles in court settings against area high schools.
The Medfield High School Mock Trial Team defeated Westwood High School
Wednesday, 84-76.
The team is coached by high school teacher Richard DeSorgher and Medfield Attorney Brad Phipps. It is run as part of the school's political science course and sponsored by the Massachusetts Bar Association. Students are given a case prepared by the Mass Bar Association and role play the parts of prosection
and defense on alternative weeks as well as the witnesses.
They compete in competition against area high schools in actual court room settings before sitting judges.
