Medfield High School Class of 2014: Speeches, Reflections and Awards

Read five speeches given at the graduation on Sunday.

Graduating seniors of the Medfield High School Class of 2014 wrapped up their time as students in Medfield on Sunday, and several students gave heartfelt speeches during the commencement exercises.

As part of its graduation ceremonies, Medfield High School  features honor essayists as opposed to a valedictorian and salutatorian. The academic top 10 percent of seniors are invited to apply as an honor essayist and involves the submission of a speech that is later judged by a faculty committee, according to school officials. The speeches are evaluated on their own, and committee members do not know which student submitted the speeches.

Olivia Gotham and Elizabeth Lanzilla were named this year's honor essayists, and joined a host of other speakers at the graduation on Sunday.
