Medfield High School Academic Year in Review: Communication and Community Outreach

Communication and Community Outreach:

Being involved with and active in the Medfield community was something former Medfield High School Judy Noble strongly believed in and made sure students at Medfield High School had opportunities and time to do so.

As a result, Medfield High saw success in its efforts for community outreach in 2010.

Year Highlights:

  • Noble said in terms of communication, more faculty members and administrators were utilizing Edline to post important information in 2010, making it easier to share information with the learning community at Medfield High.
  • Students contributed time and money to many organizations and causes in 2010. Most recently, students participated in a fundraiser for relief efforts and aid to the tornado ravaged areas in Massachusetts.
  • Student council members participated in the “sleep-out for the homeless” on the lawn at Town Hall to heighten awareness of the plight of individuals and families across the state and country. During the event, students collected donations from people passing by.
  • Members of the senior class participated in community service projects around town. Over 100 members of the class helped the highway department, the town library, the senior center and various other organizations for two days in May.
  • A subcommittee of site council proposed a plan for review of the school’s mission statement and core values that involves utilizing at least one the advisory periods to discuss and tease out its meaning.
