Dear Parents/Guardians:

It is with a heavy heart that I write to tell you of the unexpected death of a beloved member of our Blake and Medfield family, physical education teacher Ken Brackett.  Mr. Brackett passed away this morning at his home. We will miss our friend and colleague deeply.  I know you will join me in offering my condolences to Mr. Brackett’s family.  We have no information regarding services at this time.

Mr. Brackett was a longtime member of our teaching and coaching staff.  We will always remember his dedication and care for the students in Medfield. He was a committed educator who shared his joy for teaching during his 12 years in Medfield.  Mr. Brackett’s reach extended beyond the classroom.  He was our Intramural Director and also served as an assistant coach for the Medfield High School varsity basketball team.

We ask that you share and discuss this information with your child this evening.  Tomorrow morning, we will follow up with our students during Advisory.  We will have additional counselors available to all students and staff.  If you have concerns regarding your child, please be sure to contact his/her guidance counselor.

Respectfully,

Robert Parga
