What Do You Think About the Proposed Medfield State Hospital Cleanup Plan?

Public comments due back to selectmen by Tuesday, June 18.

On June 6, the Medfield State Hospital Mediation Committee held a public information night where the unveiled the latest proposed clean-up plan for a portion of the site.

Essentially, the restoration plan [detailed HERE] includes excavating material from the "C&D" (construction and demolition) area which includes removing big pieces of construction waste and taking it offsite, relocating material off the power plant area, and restoring the grades in that area.

The proposed restoration is expected to cost approximately $2.5 to 3 million and will be paid for by the Commonwealth which owns the 269-acre property.
