Voters Approve State Hospital Land Purchase at Town Election

More than 1,200 voters were in favor of the move, according to preliminary election results.

Medfield residents voted largely in favor of the town purchasing the former Medfield State Hospital property in Monday's annual town election, according to preliminary election results

A total of 1,390 votes were cast for the question, with 1,277 voters saying yes and 104 saying no.

The next step in the process is for the state legislature to enact a home rule legislation authorizing the sale of the land to Medfield, according to MSH Vision.
