Special Election to be Held for Town Garage Debt Exclusion, and More

Here's a glance at the topics discussed at the Feb. 26 meeting of the Board of Selectmen.

The Board of Selectmen held a special meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 26 and discussed the following items:

Approved placement on the town meeting warrant of a request from local contractor Robert Borrelli to lease town-owned land (Lot 3) on Ice House Road on which he wants to build a 120,000sf sports facility. Osler Peterson recused himself because he is an abutter. Selectmen said it was fair to put Borrelli on the warrant because there is another entity on the warrant that is hoping to rent the space (the town's Park and Recreation Department).

Heard one-hour presentation by the Medfield Permanent Building Committee which proposes a new town garage expected to cost approximately $11 million. PBC members include Thomas Erb (chairman), John Nunnari, Mike Quinlan, Louis Fellini, and Tim Bonfatti.

Called for a special town election to be held on April 30 for residents to vote on the town garage debt exclusion.
