Selectmen Discussed Budgets, Fundraisers, and Licenses

Here's a recap of the issues discussed at this week's meeting of the Board of Selectmen.

 

At its meeting on Tuesday, March 5, the Board of Selectmen: 

Heard the FY14 budget review for the Department of Public Works -- including the Town Garage, Highway Department, Snow and Ice, Equipment and Repair Maintenance, Sidewalks, Solid Waste Disposal, Transfer Station, Cemetery, Trees, Water, Sewer -- from DPW Superintendent Ken Feeney.

Heard the FY14 budget review for workers' compensation and liability insurance from Town Administrator Michael Sullivan. 

Agreed to file a disclosure statement with the Town Clerk on behalf of William Kingsbury III.

Accepted the minutes of Feb. 19 and Feb. 26, 2013.

Approved a request from The Gazebo Players to set up signs around town to advertise the musical, The Tempest, which will be performed on July 20 and 21. 

Granted a one-day liquor license to Beginning Years Child Development.

Approved a common victualler license for her Chinese Food Takeout restaurant at 24 North Street, on the condition the applicant receives approval from the Board of Health. 

Heard the mediation regarding Medfield State Hospital is moving along. The next mediation session will be held next week.

Ann Thompson was recognized and thanked for serving 30 years on the board (and five years before that on the Warrant Committee).
