Red Gate Public Hearing Tonight to Finalize Purchase

After several weeks of legal meetings, selectmen will hold a public hearing to finalize the town-meeting-approved purchase of Red Gate Farm.

The Board of Selectmen will meet tonight, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. in Town Hall.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. with a public hearing and vote to exercise the town's right of first refusal to purchase agricultural land known as Red Gate Farm.

The board has been in legal discussions (in executive session) regarding possible legal action since a special town meeting in October approved the purchase of 30 acres of Red Gate Farm for $1.4 million (plus interest).

The agenda also includes:

  1. Meet with the Medfield Cultural Council at 7:20 p.m. regarding proposed municipal match to state allocation of $4,250 for FY15.
  2. Discuss an invitation to attend an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Nicholas James Sauro on Jan. 4.
  3. Nominate members to the Pocket Park Steering Committee.
