Voters at the special election on Tuesday, approved a $9.5 million Proposition 2 1/2 debt exclusion to fund a new town garage with a vote of 1298 in favor and 831 opposed.

In order to go forward, the proposed new town garage had to pass at town meeting on Monday night (which it did after a 15-minute presentation and no questions from voters) and also at a special election (where 2,129 ballots were cast).

This same process was followed two years ago where it passed at town meeting but had failed at the ballot box.

"The Medfield Permanent Building Committee is very pleased, and we will be evaluating the three lowest bidders over the next few weeks," said PBC Chairman Thomas Erb regarding the passage.

The lowest bidders include TLT Construction, Castagna Construction, and Colantonio, Inc.
