Planning Board to Review CVS Site Plan Tonight

Medfield's Planning Board will meet Monday at 8 p.m. in Town Hall to review site plans and follow-up on fees and Section 5 of the Zoning Bylaw.

The Medfield Planning Board, which meets Monday at 8 p.m. in Town Hall, is expected to review site plans for the expansion that will include a drive-thru window at its current location.

According to the proposal, CVS will expand throughout the entire building on Main Street, including the portion currently occupied by . Remodeling and expansion would include a drive-thru window at the rear of the building.

– 37 of 88 voters  (42 percent) responded they thought it was a “horrible idea. Have you seen the traffic congestion in the parking lot?” Twenty-three voters (26 percent) were in favor of the expansion, saying “great plan. A bigger store and drive-thru window are much needed improvements.” Only 17 voters (19 percent) said they don’t want to see D’Angelo Sandwich Shop leave.

Town historian Richard DeSorgher also weighed in on the on Oct. 13 raising the issue that with the current expansion proposal, CVS should include improvements to the exterior of the building to remain consistent with other aspects of a “highly visible area of the town.”

The planning board also expects to review site plans for 21 to 23, aka 25 Adams Street and will follow-up on fees and Section 5 of the Zoning Bylaw.
