Memorial Dedication Ceremony Set for Lee, Snyder Roads Saturday

Lee and Snyder roads will receive memorial plaques for the first time this Memorial Day weekend.

The Medfield Committee to Study Memorials will dedicate two Medfield streets this weekend.

Officials will hold a ceremony on Saturday, May 24 at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Lee and Snyder roads, near Stagecoach Road, the committee announced. In the event of inclement weather, call 508-906-3025 regarding alternative plans.

During the ceremony, officials will dedicate Lee Road in honor of Earl Winifred Lee, after whom the street is named and who was killed in combat during World War II, according to Selectmen Osler Pete Peterson's Medfield02052 blog

Snyder Road, meanwhile, will be dedicated in honor of George Thomas Snyder, who was killed in action during the Korean War, according to Peterson's blog.

The committee, meanwhile, has initiated an effort to replace and update memorial plaques around town this summer. In the case of Lee and Snyder roads, it will be the first time they've had memorial plaques.
