Medfield Sends Support to City of Boston

In a unanimous vote at Monday's annual town meeting, the town of Medfield sent its support to the City of Boston in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings.

At Monday's annual town meeting, Selectman Richard DeSorgher asked town meeting to consent to the following Resolution that was then sent to the City of Boston and to Medfield police chief and fire chief.

It was unanimously approved. Here is a copy of the Resolution as read by DeSorgher:

Resolved that the town of Medfield salutes Boston and in light of the recent horrific, senseless and cowardly acts of terror during the Boston Marathon, in which some 27 Medfield runners participated and hundreds of Medfield residents attended, we stand together in unity with our capital city.

Resolved that the town of Medfield remembers and has in our thoughts all those killed and injured in the bombings and shootings as well as their family members who continue to go through difficult times.

Resolved that the Medfield residents in open town meeting honor all the brave individuals in the police, fire, safety professions, the EMTs and medical personnel, National Guard troops, marathon runners and citizens who put their lives in harms way to aid those hurt by the bombings.

And Resolved that the town of Medfield, in open town meeting, sends a vote of sincere appreciation to our own police, fire, EMT and safety members, letting them know how we value their service to our Medfield community and their being on guard 24-7 to protect and help us in times of crisis.
